She Said Yes! Our Story
Our love story began on August 15, 2014, when we decided to do things our way and traded the traditional dinner date for a night of bar-hopping in the city. We began in the lower east side of Manhattan and crossed the Williamsburg Bridge into what would become forever.
With drinks flowing, it was no surprise that we saw each other through rosè-colored glasses that night, but following our date we quickly realized that we weren’t just “drunk in love,” and we agreed that each of us was unlike anyone we’ve ever met. So special, so unique.
Since then, we would talk every day for hours, sharing our dreams, fears, thoughts, and goals. One of the many things that we had in common was the desire to have a big family, and we wasted no time getting started on that one!
It’s been six years since the bar-hopping date that changed both of our lives in ways we would never have imagined. On February 5, 2019, Jamal proposed while we walked over the Williamsburg Bridge on an unseasonably warm winter day, bringing it back to where it all began, and of course, I said yes!
Throughout this time, we continued to live life our way. We share three beautiful children, and I gained an amazing bonus son. As our family has grown, so has our love, respect, and patience for each other. When we think about our relationship, these are the moments that we look back on and smile.
Now, we walk around in a daze with blurred vision, not from boozy nights out, but from utter happiness, intoxicated, and in love with each other! As we look ahead to what our future may hold, we know that life has so much more in store for us. The time is right for us to celebrate our love with all of you, our closest friends and family, and we could not be more excited!
